North Wales: Conwy and Penrhyn Castle



I recently sacrificed another Sunday sleep-in for the rugged beauty of the North Wales coastline. Conwy, home to Conwy castle and its town walls built between 1283-1289, is less than two hours' drive from Manchester.

I WENT INSIDE THE SMALLEST HOUSE IN BRITAIN.


After a jacket potato lunch at a cute little family-run restaurant, we hopped back on the bus for the next stop: Penrhyn Castle. We were not allowed to bring our cameras but it looked like this:


This may sound a little strange but the highlight was definitely the original hand-painted Chinese wallpaper, hundreds of years old.
