Day 1 of the road trip did not get off to an ideal start. We slept-in until 10am and the conversation of the morning went along the lines of 'we shouldn't have drank so much last night.' First stop was 30 seconds down the road at Tesco to pick up the essentials - Carlsberg, crisps and an egg mayonnaise sandwich.
Faithfully following the directions of our lady friend the Sat Nav, we headed south, with some major delays around Birmingham after deciding against taking a toll road. We stopped once at a rather glamorous rest stop at Oxford and after almost five hours of driving we reached pretty little Brighton.
It was a long, long day but it soon became clear that Brighton was a gorgeous little town bursting with colour - not to mention THE COOLEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT - and I have stayed at a lot of hotels. If you ever visit Brighton, stay at myhotel.... it is from the future. And goddamn hard for your GPS to locate.
