Road Trip Day 3 - Torquay to Plymouth to St Ives

Above: the lovely view of the 'English Riviera' I woke up to!

After breakfast and a quick exploration of the harbour we set off again. Attempted to locate the hotel that was the inspiration behind Fawlty Towers but unfortunately failed.

We stopped for a break at Plymouth, yet another pretty seaside city and home of Plymouth Gin.

Oh and an awesome striped lighthouse!!!

On the motorway, we saw signs for the famous 'Eden Project' and decided we might as well check it out while we were in the area. After squeezing through a serious of narrow, winding country roads for 20 minutes, we finally found it... to bad there was half an hour left til closing time.

Our destination for this evening was St Ives, a coastal town of 10,000 people that is famous for its art scene. We stayed at Tregenna Castle:

After dumping our luggage we took the 15-minute walk into town, through the castle ground's own gardens and forest and alongside the beach. Before dinner, I sample some local Cornish cider at this pub, then we enjoyed at seafood feast by the water.
