We were hesitant about paying the £9.50 to enter the Royal Pavilion - but boy oh boy was it worth it. I wasn't allowed to take photos inside but this is what the Banqueting Room looks like:
Then we walked along the incredibly windy beach - note the pebbles!!!
All it needed was a little sunshine and a striped deckchair and it would basically be an episode of Mr Bean.
Amazing shopping down the quirky lanes!
As much as I loved Brighton, by mid-afternoon we had to hit the road again. We broke up the four-hour trip to Torquay with a coffee break in Portsmouth in Hampshire and this is the spectacular Spinnaker Tower, which looks as though it belongs in Dubai:
